      @ZachWeiner On the flip side though, the smaller, less active things can at the very least be pretty othering. Our county courthouse has a tradition of holiday decoration, which I’m all for - except it prominently features a nativity scene. Makes it clear who has the power & influence here.

    @ZachWeiner The silver lining there is that has given me a perspective where I can more easily recognize all the other ways that I’m immensely privileged, and has made it even easier for me to empathize with people who aren’t.
